Youth Homes Built for Growth and Safety
Intensive / Complex Needs Program (Lower Level)
Our Intensive / Complex Needs Program is designed for youth ages 13–17 who require a higher level of support due to high behavioural challenges or specialized needs. This program offers a structured, trauma-informed environment with enhanced safety features and personalized care. Key elements include:
A dedicated lower level with 3 private bedrooms and reinforced safety features (e.g., window covers compliant with fire standards)
Thick separation doors for controlled access and secure entry screening to ensure safety and privacy
Flexible appliances and routines (e.g., stove can be removed or re-installed based on the youth’s needs and progress)
Low staff-to-youth ratios when required, with trained staff available to provide close supervision and de-escalation support
Full staff training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), restraint techniques (for safety when needed), mental health crisis prevention, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed care
Individualized daily support including medication management, meal preparation, personal care, and skill-building tailored to each youth’s care plan
This program creates a safe, predictable space where youth can feel secure while working on emotional regulation, behaviour management, and personal growth in preparation for greater independence.
Standard Community Group Care / General Support Program (Upper Level)
Our Standard Community Group Care / General Support Program is designed for youth who benefit from a supportive group living environment with moderate or lower behavioural needs. This program provides a structured, welcoming setting that encourages social connection, skill-building, and independence in a safe, home-like atmosphere. Key elements include:
An upper level with 4 flexible rooms (one dedicated staff office; the remaining three can be configured as private bedrooms, quiet rooms, game rooms, or other customized spaces based on the youth’s individual needs and care plan)
Bright, open common areas that promote group interaction, relaxation, and daily routines
Flexible daily schedules tailored to education, recreation, life skills, and personal goals
Moderate staff-to-youth ratios during awake hours, with trained staff providing guidance, supervision, and emotional support
Full staff training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), mental health crisis prevention and de-escalation, suicide prevention, first aid/CPR, medication administration, and trauma-informed care
Individualized support focused on building independence, including life skills development (cooking, budgeting, job readiness), community outings, and transition planning toward adulthood
This program fosters a sense of belonging and community while empowering youth to develop confidence, responsibility, and the tools they need for a successful transition to independent living.
